Responsibility & due diligence obligations within our own business area and in the global supply chain

The responsibility for and implementation of due diligence obligations to protect human rights and the environment in accordance with the Supply Chain Due Diligence Act is an integral part of tk accelis’ overarching sustainability strategy and goals.

On January 1, 2023, the “Act on Corporate Due Diligence to Prevent Human Rights Violations in Supply Chains” (LkSG) came into effect in Germany.

Our understanding of these due diligence obligations is preserved in our Policy Statement, as well as in the tk accelis Code of Conduct and the tk accelis Supplier Code of Conduct.

On this page, you will find comprehensive information, training materials, downloads, and links regarding LkSG (German only) and its relevance to tk accelis. For simplicity, all tk accelis methods, processes, and systems specifically designed to ensure compliance with LkSG requirements are referred to by the term “SCA,” short for “Supply Chain Act.”

Our SCA processes will continue to be monitored on an ongoing basis and adjusted as needed.

Whistleblower system: Report a potential violation

Credible reports help us address violations early on and minimize harm to our company, our employees, and our business partners. That is why we take you and your concerns seriously. The option to submit reports is available to all tk accelis employees, as well as customers, suppliers, and other third parties.

The individuals entrusted with managing the tk accelis whistleblower system guarantee impartiality, are independent, not bound by instructions, and are bound by a duty of confidentiality.

Please note: The whistleblower system is not an emergency service! Please do not use the reporting channels of the whistleblower system to report an immediate threat to life, limb, health, or property, as the reporting channels are not designed for this purpose. If necessary, notify the appropriate authorities, such as the fire department or police, or the relevant internal security department.

Side by side: How supplier management on an equal footing creates new perspectives

A holistic, forward-looking supplier management approach is at the heart of every globally active company.

The challenges range from the need to build a flexible, digital supply chain to environmental and social issues, as well as regulatory changes and new competitors in the global market.

As one of the world’s leading independent materials traders and service providers, we recognize our significant responsibility toward customers and suppliers—especially when it comes to strategic issues such as digitalization. To efficiently shape the future, for example, all of our c. 150,000 products and services are available worldwide via a dedicated omnichannel system. This logistical challenge requires perfectly coordinated interaction between suppliers, our operational sites, and, of course, 24/7 access for our customers—via their preferred channel.

Another essential cornerstone of excellent supplier management is the optimal control of incoming goods flows. Here, our logistics experts have taken a major step toward the future with their time-slot management tool: loading and unloading are carried out in a time-efficient manner for both the supplier and the customer, thereby saving costs.

But it’s not just sophisticated control and future-proof systems that make our supplier relationships a reliable factor: Especially in highly competitive markets, it’s important not only to maintain strategic partnerships but also to actively foster them. Thanks to its international focus, tk accelis can respond quickly and competently to cultural and social nuances within its partner network, thereby promoting mutual growth.
